Understanding Australian Politics

Australia has only one political party auspol with two wings, the Labor wing and the Liberal wing.


Labor campaigns from the left and regulate from the centre; the Liberals campaign from the centre, then govern from the far right while pursuing a pro-business plan that does little to raise the quality of life of normal people in Australia.


As a result, there is only a modest variety of prospective change in policy that happens between the center and centre-right positions, leading to a frozen democracy and the continuation of the status quo wanted by the politician's masters.


The latter consist of influential members of the monetary sector, the Liberal and Labor party leaders, and owners of the media. This group is referred to as the permanent government in Australia. Parliament constitutes the provisional government, where the morality play of social and political issues unfolds; nevertheless, the real decisions are made by their masters. Parliament is clearly the biggest house of prostitution in the nation, with common Australians experiencing the illusion, not the truth, of representative democracy. As one Liberal Parliamentarian was honest enough to state, if you want to gain access, you need to pay for it.


The Liberal party constitutes the poison that permeates Australian culture through its promotion of 19th-century rugged individuality, anti-intellectualism, and racism.


The rugged distinctiveness is cast in modern-day culture as personal responsibility, the name the Liberals gives to it's far right ideology. Under their view, each individual is responsible for himself; it is a type of social Darwinism that declines cumulative obligation and mutual support. Although they fear socialism, they have no concept that government subsidies to oil, farming and other industries constitute socialism.


Without a doubt, as the late economist John Kenneth Galbreath observed, Australia has long had socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor. This is beyond their meager understanding. The anti-intellectualism is manifested with Tony Abbott and his band of far right colleagues, despite their intellectual implosions on national tv. The racial discrimination is reflected not just in the 'Stop the Boats' concept,.


The so called Australian Dream is a horrible one of a job, a residence and a vehicle, with no conversation those fundamentals being just a point of departure for improving life through the arts, songs, literature or various other pursuits that enhance the human experience, rather than the basics serving as the end point. The dreams of the White majority are individual ones; mutual sharing and support are rejected. Under these conditions, is it a good concept to vote? One reason to vote for a various party is to deny authenticity to the one party system.
